New and repeated discoveries have always taken place atop the mountain of Mauna kea.

This, too, shall draw to a close. But no worries, we can always raise property taxes.

Might be the only solution.. raise all taxes 500%. Property, income tax,gas tax, sales tax...and visitors tax..if they have one.

..And the people bowed and prayed... to the neon God they made...

"I would discuss papers and scientific topics, but I don't think others here would care because it is too specialized, unlike Sagan's pop-science which has broad appeal."

There have been plenty of discussions here about about scientific discoveries and topics, usually those that come originate from research that happens on the Big Island. I know not everyone is interested in such topics, but there are plenty of people here who are interested.

Unfortunately, many of those threads get hijacked by people who are convinced they are experts in everything or want to divert the threads to other topics.
