Hydroponics Workshop

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo will conduct a class on Hydroponic Food Production to be held on Saturday, September 17 and 24th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. All classes taught on campus in UCB 331. The cost is $95. ETF* opportunity also available for individuals who qualify.

The Hydroponic Food Production is a course for growers, farm workers, horticulturists or anyone else seeking to lay a sound foundation in hydroponic growing. The course focuses on principles and practices of hydroponic systems and will run over two Saturdays.

Both courses are being taught by Dr. Melanie Willich teaches agriculture, bioenergy, and horticulture courses at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

*Private and non-government employers/businesses may qualify for a 50% tuition waiver through the state’s Employment & Training Fund (ETF). For details, please visit
