The idea that the TMT is a laser in disguise made me laugh. We already have observatories on MK that use lasers, are they being used as weapons? I think BJ Penn should investigate those observatories right now to see what super-weapons the astronomical community has installed. And I'd like to ask him if he believes shooting down hostile alien spaceships intent on Earth domination is a bad thing.

He's made a seamless transition from mixed martial arts, to mixed up expository ruminations about science, technology, and other areas of his expertise. It's just as entertaining, and he doesn't need a second person to juggle his brain around into tossed salad.

Back in the early 2000s a bunch of my friends and colleagues were enjoying ourselves at Charlie's in Keaau. Horowitz asked if he could join us and since he was alone, we allowed him to join the group and share the fun we were having. He then chose to lecture us, and me personally, on the history of the UK and the MI5 and MI6 (UK equivalents of the FBI and CIA).
Not only did he get his history wrong, but he also continued to lecture us on all sorts of conspiracy stuff to the point where we all shut up hoping he'd leave. Fortunately, he got the message after a while and left or maybe it was because we weren't going to buy him a beer.
Either way, he ruined what was a really fun evening.
