Lanikai Tap In Volcano Open, Ohelo Restaurant Closed

Drove by Lanikai in Volcano around 1 PM, totally packed, the parking lot next door was full.  I’ve never seen that before.  The line for a table went out the door and down the entrance ramp.  We did some other things and returned around 3 PM, still a line out the door, but parking lot half as full.  

The wait wasn’t long.  Started with a glass of Pilsner which was mild, but excellent.  Breaded ahi pupus, then the vegetarian pizza with kabocha squash and zucchini. Oishii!

Passed through Volcano around that time as well and choose to get our pies to go. You forgot to mention that the Vegetarian is a pesto pizza, which was pretty tasty. Overall, menu has some interesting options to try, but beware some odd restrictions - they wouldn't give us a Roasted Beet Salad to go (only pizza and drinks) during the busy time (2-4p they said) and there was some strange 30 minute delay on seating announced while we were waiting, apparently due to a shift change. Still working out the kinks it seems and dealing with their popularity.
