Jones Act - temporary pause
#11
those of you now against the pausing of the Jones Act

Can we be for a permanent revocation of the act, while pointing out the flaws of a temporary pause? Right now it’s being manipulated as a bandaid on a large open, bleeding wound.  A temporary talking point that doesn’t get to the root of the problem, which is one stupid decision after another.

Do you think ships will change their delivery routes to or from Hawaii for 60 days?  Exactly how will a 60 day pause help consumers in Hawaii other than a temporary gas price puppet show?  After 60 days will there need to be a Plan B?  Rhetorical question as there clearly was no Plan A.

Not too long ago, those of you now against the pausing of the Jones Act specifically called on your Dear Leader, Sleepy Joe, to get rid of it because of the monetary effects to Hawaii. Classic case of TDS.

Oh, but not this girl.

But, if overturning the Jones Act makes the 40 ounce Great Value can of coffee at WalMart go back to 15 bucks where it was for a long time, from its now 25 bucks, I might be easily swayed.

And, being clear, the amount of domestic oil transported to Hawaii from Jones Act protected shipping is 16%. The remaining 84% is being transported with foreign flagged ships from foreign countries hauling foreign oil to Hawaii.

Now, wouldn't it be more fair to say the ones who think this 60 day suspension will make gas drop back down the 50-75 cents its already up and actually relieve the gross incompetence, malfeasance and stupidity that created the price increase in the first place to be the real TDS sufferers?
