Hi all,
This week I learned from the Planning Dept about a different type of detached habitable living space other than a guesthouse -- a detached bedroom, which is not limited to the 500 square foot size and can have a bathroom. No kitchen of course.
I was told that this type of extension does not have to be physically connected to the house, even by a breezeway, so long as it is 50 feet or less from part of the main house, including the garage/carport.
Anyone have any experience permitting these or other knowledge about the rules and restrictions?
