Council Testimony NEEDED re: Redistricting

Testimony needs to be in by noon today.

This is the key to so many other issues for Puna finally moving forward ...or being stalled for another ten years.

This is so important I am taking time off from work to go in and testify in person.

Can you imagine the shock of the Council if everyone who has felt strongly about various Puna issues (which have seen little to no progress over the last ten years thanks to under-representation) all showed up in person tomorrow to testify?

It only takes a couple minutes to testify (minimally "My name is _____ _______ and I live in ________. Please vote in favor of Bill 18. Thank you.") -and there is probably shopping and suchlike to be done in Hilo anyway, right?

We will be living with the same-old same-old results for the next ten years if folks in Puna allow the under-representation to continue, and really with nobody but ourselves to blame. There are enough people in Puna that if we showed up in large numbers and spoke up then it would be impossible to ignore us.

I hope to see other Punawebbers at the Council Chambers tomorrow morning!
