Why are people in tents? Last I read the shelter at the Sure Foundation only had one resident.
FEMA funds were released on May 12 when Trump signed the "major disaster declaration" at the governor's request.
The way FEMA works, is that they step in when local resources have been exhausted or overwhelmed. When you have 1 person in a shelter setup for 50, that threshold maybe hasn't been reached yet.
FEMA has come along way since Katrina, but they don't come in and duplicate services that already exist that haven't been used.

People are in tents inside as well as outside with pets. After 4 weeks its time to find homes for them. The subdivision is mostly gone, with no end in sight

"People in tents in the rain is NOT ok..."
Not really a correct description when there is a completely inside shelter (four walls plus a roof, bathroom facilities, food, water, electricity, beds, blankets, social services, etc etc) setup for 50 people with only 1 person in it.
I understand that some people would prefer to be in a tent in the rain rather than follow shelter rules. I might be one of them myself. But to try and assert that there is insufficient temporary (shelter) housing for those affected is currently untrue.
And all of the shelters accept pets.
It seems like a waste of resources to beg people to assault social media for requests of services that already exist, and when FEMA has already been activated. They are here already.
ETA: "beds, blankets"
