The mayoral runoff between Roth and Alameda will come down to whether Roth can convince enough of the 63% who voted against him to change their mind in his favor. He got 10 points closer to 50% + 1 vote that Alameda, so it is doable. It surprised me that Alameda didn't do better, given the county employees union endorsements. I will be casting a blank vote because I don't like either of them.
Despite what anyone thinks about Roth, I don't think that whoever thought this would either help him or hinder him really did not think it all the way thru.
