Coach Pagan did a great job and the boys had a ton of fun.  That's all that matters to me.

Hilo made it to the LLWS Championships in Williamstown, PA in 1961.
Beat Canada -- first Hawaii team to move into the winners' bracket.
Then lost to El Cajon, CA the eventual world champs in extra innings (8) by the score of 3-2.
Future Cleveland Browns QB, Brian Sipes was on that California team.

I knew some of these boys when they were much older, but can't recognize any of these youthful faces in the picture..
I know that standing, 5th from the right is former Hilo attorney, the late Scott Leithead.
