What happened to the archives?
#1
Rob... You know I don't give a rip about thread counts or anything... but I just noticed that about 50% of my previous posts are no longer showing..... and I'm now a "kamaaina" instead of a "punatic"....big deal...I could really care less about thread counts... but what I am curious about...is possible information lost....

And please people.... this really doesn't mean squat to me...

Just curious what happened to the previous posts?

I noticed earlier yesterday when I was trying to compile websites of candidates that Kale's website was no longer available that posts were getting deleted....

So just a quick question....why are so many posts getting erased...?

I retire or delete posts from time to time. Generally this happens for two reasons:

1. In the Non-Classified section I will delete posts after about 30 days of no posting. No point I can see in maintaining an ad for a used car for years. Ads can be renewed by reporting them as a new topic.

2. Dated material will generally get retired after the event is pau. I did retire one of Kale Gumapac's announcement of a meeting recently. The meeting date had passed. When I retire a topic I move it to a parking lot where it can be retrieved if necessary. I did re-examine this topic and restored it. YOu are correct. it contained the link to Kale's web site so it's relevance is current.

Thanks for your explanation.

Is there a way to search these "retired" threads... So that if a subject comes up later...We don't have to repeat what we said earlier?

Is their a way to at least "peak" at the parking lot to see if something was discussed before so that we as users don't feel stupid bringing up a subject that was already talked about?
