Superferry shut down for good

To the best of my knowledge the companies you mention are using the harbors as they now exist. The Super Ferry was requiring some millions of dollars in modifications to various harbors, hence the EIS requirement. Other modifications to the harbors over the recent decades have all required EIS.

I have used the ferries in Europe. Lived there for a few years. Very nice. Great public transport.
