I ran into Fay at the HPP Swap Meet earlier this month. She says she is on a public safety committee of some sort and asked me about my work with Neighborhood Watch. She says she retired when they closed Kulani Prison, and I suggested that she might have more time to pursue Puna's needs in the Leg. She did not indicate any concrete steps in that direction, and I can only assume that we will get the same passive, follow-the-leadership representation as before. To answer your question, Scott, I would have to say "nothing substantial." Or maybe nothing at all. Anybody else seen something I'm missing? And yes, I know there's no money, but this lady did nothing when there WAS money.

I am trying to get Faye's office to contact HDOT regrading roundabouts for Hwy. 130. HDOT is bringing a national expert on the subject to Maui to do a presentation on the facts and realities of roundabouts. So FoPF is trying to aks Faye, as our state rep on safety, to get the expert to do a presentaion on roundabouts for the public in Puna.
