Inspiration4 has launched and reached orbit!
The capsule will be visible over Puna tomorrow morning: Wednesday, Sept 16 Rises: 5:19 AM in the northwest Sets: 5:29 toward the southeast Brightness: Magnitude 3.0

When you look up at the moon at night, did you ever wonder what the view is like from the other side? The DSCOVR spacecraft is positioned in an orbit 1 million miles away from earth, and captured a series of photos (rendered as a video animation) of the far side of the moon passing over the Pacific Ocean and Hawaii:

Mysterious space whirlpool observed from Mauna Kea
This got some people to freak out: https://youtu.be/dRUA9b4iPG0 Turns out it was what was left of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket venting unspent fuel as it started its spiraling descent into the atmosphere.

The good news, there’s a new bright satellite named BlueWalker about to be launched Saturday. It will be one of the brightest objects in the night sky.
