Introduce yourself
Hi Steve, welcome to Punaweb and to the Big Island. It's a good time to move!

hello everyone! i'm Dee and my partner is James. we are really looking forward to our move in the next couple of months. this is something we've been working on for five years now. since we went to maui the first time. now everything has fallen into place. we are coming from Riverton, Wyoming. been together 19 1/2 years and have lived and work within twenty miles of Riverton all our lives, now ready to move on to a new chapter before we are to old to enjoy it. really looking forward to making new friends and a new way slower paced way of life.

I'm Anna and joined this group prior to my move to Big Island 5 years ago (or just after the move, don't recall now). Initially my significant other and I moved to Hawaiian Acres. Lived there on 6 acres for 2 years on road 11 between B and C. Enjoyed a lovely 3 acre orchard always filled to the brim with wondrous fruit. He and I moved to Puna Beach Palisades between Kehena Beach and Seaview Estates in July 2007. And, I moved out on my own to Seaview Estates last October.

I love it down here (and have never met an ice head nor a thief, btw) and would like to stay. It feels like home to me. I'm renting a lovely place right now with an ocean view and a cool breeze and the living is easy, quiet and full of beauty. I love the sense of community here and can't imagine living elsewhere, for now.
I'm a property manager and manage 3 long term rentals. I also have my real estate license, representing buyers who wish to find property here. But that's my day job Smile My life's work is to whale watch, snorkel, commune with sea turtles, breathe in the cleanest air on Earth and give thanks every day when I wake up and remember that I live in this place of incredible beauty and intense energy.
Aloha to you all. I didn't think it possible that I could ever live on this island that called to me when I visited in 2003 for the first time. Yet 2 short years later, my life rearranged and the opportunity presented itself. Interesting how we manifest exactly what we need and want in our lives.

Mahalo, Rob, for Punaweb Forum where we can learn how to live in paradise and share our experience with others who want the same.

Welcome all, and don't for get to come visit a lot of great people from Punaweb at SCUBA SUNDAY on the first Sunday of each month at Richardson beach. Usually runs from 10am to 2,3, or what ever!! You don't have to scuba to be there, just bring something food wise to share, a chair, and time to visit!!

Welcome!

HA is a nice place to live for it's community. I miss being up there as there are just so many nice people in the Acres. Went to a fun party last weekend there and saw lots of the old timers.

It has a interesting and colorful past and it looks like it will be continuing with a colorful future!

There are many times I wish I could be in two places at once for the community up there and the weather down here.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Everyone has been so nice. Sounds like a great place and can't wait to get myself over there. I'm very happy to find such a place with very nice members and lots of great info. It sounds like a very nice group of people in the acres.

I'm sure I will enjoy some local parties. I'm lucky enough to have a few friends over there and already made some new ones on my last visit this past June.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. see you soon.
Take care,
Steve

The GF and I will also be moving out to Puna at the end of October. We are waiting on the dog's 4-month stint after passing her blood test at KSU. I have some friends in HPP and Kapoho already and am looking forward to making many more. I think for all of us newcomers it is in one way or another a leap of faith, and it's nice to have this group as a valuable source of information. If I can't telecommute with my current job then I'll be doing iPhone/iPad programming and Jen will be looking into setting up a depth hypnotherapy business.

Mahalo,
Donivan
