8000 of those posts are about dirt roads.
Some of our best writers, Hemingway, Thoreau, Kerouac etc wove their life experiences into a semi autobiographical tale that transcended and expanded on their ordinary daily lives. Basho wrote Back Roads To Far Towns, an entire book about his journey across the dirt paths of western Japan in the 1600's.
Perhaps kalakoa's posts are a rough first draft. Perhaps after some revision a distinctive story of life in Puna, post Y2K, will emerge, of a strange and unfamiliar land without wifi or pavement, where water from the sky is pumped through our kitchens and bathrooms, for those of us who have a kitchen or bathroom. A land where the air is filled with the very particles of creation as melted rock occasionally escapes from beneath our feet and rolls down the mountainside toward our homes and towns. Where a drive for basic necessities down a rutted, potholed, and on days like today washed out layer of dirt and cinder turns every quest for a loaf of bread or Mahi Mahi fillet into a adventure few others will ever encounter.
I'd buy a copy.

Dear Obie,
We BOTH know there are more than a few of those here who's post counts went up the like crazy for whatever reason and quality dropped relative.
aloha
Bawhahaha, I'm not sure if that new level name was there last night or I just did not notice it.
Indeed a lofty goal for us to seek.

The 10,000 post level name was set up fourteen years ago. I had completely forgotten about it.

That was good foresight. I was thinking that you might have only set it up to handle 4 digits, and number 10,000 would have reset the clock and the next post would be #1 and Kalakoa would start over as a newbie. Heh heh.
Another milestone coming up, if I'm not mistaken. I'm assuming that Rob's first post on 5-30-03 was the birth date of Punaweb, which would mean 15th birthday coming up at the end of May. Congrats to both of you.
RWR, Rob is still 946 away, not 47. That could take a while.
