PGV meeting ends in arrest for RJ
#11
Ormat holds those community meetings as a community service, trying to explain they have legal rights as well as the community. Mike Kaleikini has been lead on these meetings for many, many years and the guy really works above and beyond, with unbelievable patience all this time. So what that he is a manager now rather than a worker? He was a boiler and turbine technician with his time in the Navy and knows how steam systems work, before his many years as a worker at PGV. How he holds it together so calmly is beyond me. Meanwhile, PGV has steadily provided more base power for over 20 years, while all these protesters have done is wasted time, energy and money all those years.

I would like to give a big MAHALO to Opihikao . You know me.

I have lived here for 20 years. Those that have been here know that this is not the first time I have demonstrated in the name of the community. For anyone who doesn't know me I am a very real person. I am not a newbie in Puna. I am just a newbie on the punaweb. I don't talk trash. I talk truth and facts. And I walk my talk. I don't bash people in anonymity.

leilanidude, I would like to address your relevant and meaningful questions. Let's give it a go.

The last well drilled, was not in 2005

I said the well was drilled in 2005. I never mentioned that it was the 'last'. Here is an excerpt of what I sent to the reporter. "I was livid to find out at the meeting that Ormat turned the accidental well involved in the 2005 incident into an injection well that is being utilized today."

Either way, it is just steam coming up the well.

Is it? It can't just be steam because the fluid that they are injecting into the well is not just rainwater. It has been enhanced with chemicals (that everyone wants to know about but they are proprietary).

if they do plan on using the other technique, so what?

It may be a big deal. I question whether it is in Ormat's lease to touch the magma or to utilize the magma. I believe they are only allowed to use the rock. Magma is the source not the resource. Federal, State and County Codes would have to be changed and their lease would have to be amended at the very least.

I am desperate to get you all to understand the difference. Here is a link to the conference in 2008. Both scientifically and spiritually this was a major event in the history of the world.

All around you, RJ. This island is made of rock. Where do you think it came from? Magic fairies?

I'm interested in your opinion now. If you put water in your freezer, does it stop being water?
