HPP Biz
Thanks for the chuckle C.E. I observe character and behavior. I made my comments based on factual observations. F.S. does not command any respect. He has not spoken with dignity or been stalworth. We have all seen him get extremely red in the face and equally as loud at meetings. He has yelled at previous board members for very insignificant things compared to what this board has done. Seems like a total hypocrite but I feel sorry for him because he is either as evil wicked as they are, been promised something for defending them, so desperate to belong that he is willing to be their puppy or/and is really just so low wattage he doesn't see they are only using him.If he defied them 1x they'd toss him to the curb. This is what I have witnessed repeatedly. And he has tremendous girth so of course I'd rather not tangle with that largess. If he would listen, understand the by-laws and reflect on the crass things he has said here he would have to apologize but don't hold your breath, I'm not.

I really think stuff like this does not belong on Punaweb and just promulgates views some have about the behavior of certain individuals in HPP. As a HPP resident this stuff just makes me feel embarrassed.

Amen Tom. I cringe when I read some of these posts. Personal attacks hurt. Is there an upside?
In my experience, there has never been a BOD here who really wants to know what the residents think, and I've seen a lot of them. Our current situation is nothing new, it's just reached new heights. Hopefully, we can remedy this status quo if we keep on trying and work together.
Every BOD has had it's supporters. Some of us have supported a BOD until we realize that they are not being responsive to our input, or we observed actions that are a waste of our money, or that they refuse to provide us with information that is legally our right to have, or refuse to take responsibility for their actions. (a lot of finger pointing going on both on the BOD and in the Membership) At that point, we change course, and stop supporting them. That does not make us hypocrites. It just indicates that we have processed new information and made a decision not to support more Baloney Sauce.
Can we please stop pointing fingers at Members and focus on the real problem, the Majority BOD. (Even this Board has honest people on it. They are just the minority, and thus rendered ineffective, as in past BOD's)

Yet those same residents are legally obligated to pay dues to support the Board.

At which point they already have your money, so there's absolutely no need to care what you think.

A scam by any other name is still a scam.

Point made and taken Tom and Kenny. I did state facts. I have witnessed F.S. behavior repeatedly. The fact is, with all the faults of previous boards... and there were problems, it was nothing like this. This board has damaged our neighborhood. They have broken so many by-laws and state statutes and rubbed our noses in it. Is that the kind of leadership that we deserve? How can anyone explain those who still support them. They didn't support previous boards this vehemently so they either have to be totally duped while being used because we have seen what the board does to those they don't want anymore or they have to be 100% on board and fine with breaking the laws. That shows what kind of people they are. One point... there probably are a couple decent board members but they haven't been able to change anything and this will continue while they are out numbered.

Again, yet, still: the owners/members are allowing the board to continue, therefore these conditions must be acceptable to the majority who refuse to act.

Nor is it clear how pseudonymous ranting in a public forum will have any affect -- the dysfunctional board is already ignoring bylaws and statutes, why would they care about the peanut gallery?

You are assuming that the posts here are directed to the board, rather than the membership.

You also are assuming that the memberships is "allowing" this to continue. The reality is there are very few mechanisms to control a rogue board that do not rely on paying lawyers and going to court to force the board into a court ordered supervision, so the next election is the only real opportunity to turn things around. However, no reasonable person is going to want to get involved in a situation that could be headed to court. If only a minority of the board wants to follow the by laws and state law the minority could end up in court right along with the people who are choosing to not follow the law and by laws, who would want to put themselves in that situation? I would guess that several of the people who got on and then got off the board rapidly realized there was no stopping the momentum of this board and bailed rather than end up in court with the scofflaws.

I am assuming that the posts constitute "airing of dirty laundry" that may or not be appropriate.

If the board is, in fact, violating state statutes, an investigation by the AG would sidestep the liability problems faced by individuals.

This thread is 8 months old, it's not the first thread on this topic, and everything keeps revolving around a "rogue board" spending money inappropriately.

How hard can it be to punish violations of the law? Oh, right, I forgot the One Rule: you not getting it today.

The membership does not have the power to make the AG get involved or to punish violations of the law. That is done by agencies that have shown no interest in what happens in these "private subdivisions." As long as they can keep collecting tax money they will continue to pretend the illegally created subdivisions work just fine, there is no incentive for the AG or prosecutors office to get involved. Heck, they let rapists and murders off with a slap on the wrist, why would they punish people who only harm one subdivision?
