TMT construction begins Monday 15 July
Jeez HOTPE, 3:42 am ????

I’m on the mainland, so not 3 am when I posted.
I’m glad those guys donate some money to good causes, but will they also replace the $1 million in scholarship they want to eliminate?

Leilanidude Says "enough for me.
Lack of common sense in this case?"

what part is "enough" for you ?
That he was born and raised in Hawaii?
That he is an environmentalist ?
That he is respected and adored by his community on the North Shore?
That he has managed to build a tremendous business based on his own music?
That his personal net worth is estimated to be over 20 million $
That he has established & funds non profit organizations to give back to Hawaii?

Seriously, I don't get your point of view. lack of common sense compared to who?

The protectors are calling themselves the "water protectors."

Is there water at risk?

I'll start calling the protesters the protectors when they start calling the pro TMT people, the enlighteners.

Lisa - I haven't heard the term "water protectors". However, one of the arguments against the TMT that continually pops up is that it will affect the aquifer and the island's water supply. This is simply untrue. See:

That's a good point.

Are the protesters protecting anything? They can still practice their religion any time.

I repeat, is there water at risk?

Thank you Tom, I read the article.

If science is to be trusted (wink), approximately 60 tons of 'space dust' is deposited on our planet each day.

Wouldn't it be great to have other scientific observations come from our island about the universe around us?
