Suggest a better solution. I see a whole thread arguing about numbers that are based on ... what, exactly? Extrapolation from testing 2% of the population?

Hey, I am on your side kalakoa... just pointing out that it appears to me that those who would be accountable for any actual test results don't seem to be too keen on testing.

In fact some hospitals are having to lay people off because business is slow especially in the ER sections.

Is this as you stated, a fact?
If it is, how many hospitals are laying off employees, and what percentage is this of all hospitals in the US, or Hawaii?
Have any doctors or nurses been laid off in Hawaii? Other than the cluster of health workers at Maui Medical who weren't exactly laid off, but laid up with COVID-19?

You might want to take a stroll down Google Avenue.. and interesting read for sure. Dude, NY ain't alone. As it is it seems you are eating propaganda served up by those that would like to open it up as much as they want to lock her up. Great catch phases (they obviously caught you) but not exactly nourishing fair. Why would anyone be so blind as to buy into the current open it up I have no idea. My only consolation is in Darwin's explanation. It's just a shame we all gotta stay home while the culling takes place.

Just keep in mind, for every image you see on tv today, all those pics of people defiantly gathering, the chances are you are looking at pictures of soon to be very ill and in some cases dead people. If you think they are right, I encourage you to join them. Play the odds. I am sure we can start a thread and spends days arguing over what your chances are..

Actually it's only like 2% of some small samples of people, so certainly less. I'd guess about 0.88, but I have nothing to really base this on. Why should that stop me from adding garbage to the equations?

I've been watching the Reopen America protests on the mainland, with their full size, big wheel pickup trucks full of yahoos, gigantic flags fluttering off the back, smaller versions on the hood like they're diplomats from an asylum, waving signs - - and often in front of hospitals, even blocking health workers from getting inside.

In some small way I'm reassured that Hawaii doesn't have a complete monopoly on truck and flag festooned idiots who in this manner advertise their ignorance of science based professions like healthcare, or astronomy.

This is what the study is indicating. granted it was only antibody testing on about 3500 people. but it indicates that a lot more people have been exposed and have antibodies to the virus. This would be great news and also mean that we could be over this quicker than we will see a vaccine for it.
