We are so entrenched and so unwilling to put ourselves in the other persons shoes that this entire exercise is pointless.
The rush to be the first with a snide comment is amazing.
Does anyone at all want to seriously respond to Kanders point about the Gain of Function story?
Probably not because addressing the facts in that matter would ruffle the feathers of the Fauci flock.
Carry on cackling in your corner and enjoy the deafening sounds of your echo chamber.
The hyperpolarization makes the future in this country look very bleak. South Texas may have mild winters but I'm looking at the Southern Hemisphere instead.

At this point all that is just noise. Really, it's simple, you're either vaccinated or an idiot.

Why not both?

Here's the deal. I may never know where coronavirus originated. A lab? Sure. A wet market? Sure. It doesn't really matter to me personally. Eventually someone will come up with proof strong enough for us to take action at a national level, and hopefully prevent another pandemic some day.
What matters is doing my part to stop the virus so good people don't suffer and die. First, I will do everything I can to keep me and my family safe, which means getting us all vaccinated (those who qualify), and avoiding dangerous indoor situations. Second, I will wear a mask and avoid doing anything that might inadvertently spread Covid to others.
We still do fun social stuff with our vaccinated friends, but I do miss parties with our unvaccinated friends. We still go out to eat, just not indoors. We still shop, but keep our distance. We still do all sorts of outdoor activities and swimming. I don't feel like we're being asked too much to malama our neighbors. If everyone did just the little bit we are doing, probably there'd be a few hundred thousand less deaths. Maybe business and life would be back to normal if the Delta surge had never taken hold due to better vaccination rates.
I feel like we're doing our part, but anti-vaxxers are extending the pandemic over some personal identity/political grudge. It's completely illogical to me that someone would be afraid of a vaccine but not a virus with proven long-term health consequences and a high death-rate among middle aged and older folks.

When I told a friend that the anti-vaxxers would probably use Colin Powellʻs death to prove vaccines are dangerous, he bet me that people wouldnʻt be THAT stupid. I just won five bucks. Thank you, Tucker Carlson. But Carlson forgot to mention that Powell was also being treated for cancer and also had Parkinsonʻs disease.

Has any antivaxxer ever given a reason for not getting the vax?
Well, besides “not wanting to”?

Its Stockholm syndrome and you guys need to snap out of it.
Well, to some extent I agree, but not the way you might think. People like you have been held hostage by the misinformation gang and are now fully cooperating and sympathizing with them. You make claims that have no basis in fact, almost like there's a gun being held to your head, and whenever you're asked a direct question you make stuff up simply to please your captors.
I asked for evidence that the vaccine is more dangerous than Covid. It's a simple question and yet you still won't provide that evidence.

That should be reason enough.
Besides "not wanting to", there is also "I don't need it", which is my reason.

“Don’t need it” because you already have immunity?
Seems like if you felt you had a valid argument, you would have no problem giving a reason.
If you already got the covid19 and you have immunity, that might be a valid reason. I can’t think of anything else.
