Drinking Rainwater
#1
A new study is out, suggesting rainwater is unsafe to drink, even in remote areas on earth.  Which presumably includes rainwater catchment in Hawaii:

A new study conducted by researchers from Stockholm University and ETH Zurich suggests that rainwater contains per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), human-made chemicals used in a wide range of consumer and industrial products. They are known as ‘forever chemicals’ because they don’t decompose in the environment. But what the study demonstrates is that these "forever chemicals" are now spread globally in the atmosphere so that they can be found in the rainwater and snow in even the most remote and isolated locations on Earth.

Apocalypse preppers recommend a 5 gallon bucket with holes in the bottom. Filled with layers of gravel and sand as a filter.

Don't know if anyone in hawaii uses that.

It would only filter particulate matter.

Another layer would be needed for microbes, to have the full setup.

Well golly G ..All this time i thought i would end up a seared chicken perched on a mountain top waiting to be engulfed by melty ice.

Now its so easy to know my fate.

I can only imagine the lunatics who will now tell their children not to open mouths skyward and don't eat the white snow.

Oh wait, those will be the same ones keeping their kids muzzled outside anyway.

Life ain't safe. Have a good time, enjoy it while it lasts, do what you can, and try not to hurt anyone along the way.
Certainty will be the death of us.

People who hate agriculture, windmills and water filtering.

What a bright future they will have (without those things).

They think they're clever.

But one day they will wake up and realize, the only ones they fooled were themselves.

Who here hates agriculture, windmills, and water filtering? Come on, own up.

Do you seriously want to live in a stone age, though.

You do realize that's the important thing.
