Kamren Adams had a clean record before this incident.

He was arrested in Washington state for a serious incident:

Wow, good sleuth work produces a troubling background with a dated photo.  Sounds like he had/has a drinking problem. Before this stabbing incident:

"Court records state that Adams, who is unemployed, has a criminal history that includes resisting arrest, DUI, vehicle prowling and fourth-degree assault"

Are you going British on us? "a serious incident" = "a somewhat troubling occurrence" if you want to go that way. It was attempted murder.

We started with “clean record” so I thought it best to break the news gently.  I have been watching Shetland & Grantchester lately, so maybe some of that understated style of English description has rubbed off on me.

From the news article HOTPE posted:

That’s from 11 years ago when he was 21.

What amazes me more than anything is how the Police responded. From a frantic call from the lady to the initial officers who first responded and then called in the Commander and Command Post as well as the Special Response Team. My guess is the Police figured out really quickly that his “guns” were harmless, and instead of just making his DNA become a new interior wall paint, figured it was best to wait him out.

And then, what if the Police just “mag dumped” this guy and then found out his guns were toys? I’m sure that the wife and kid who he was hell bent on killing would become the grieving family who lost the love of their life and causing the County to pay 7 digits for settlement as well as having one or more psychological claims by the Police Officers who pulled their triggers.

Thankfully our professional well trained and well equipped Police did what was right.

Unfortunately, in this case, the Judge and the Judge alone released this guy. Too bad we can’t hold the Judge criminally liable for the actions that this guy will inevitability cause again.

That's fair enough. I've not watched either of those shows, but I will one day. I'm going the opposite way and slowly turning into an American. Hot-doggity-damn and stuff like that. I haven't perfected it yet.

A total of 25 court cases in Washington state.  The earliest case in Washington dating back to 2010.  The most recent case in Washington was in 2021. One would think with a history like Kamren's that they would have kept him in jail.  Wait...this is Hawaii...that rarely happens.

Kamren Adams was sentenced to 3 months under a plea bargain for the stabbings and throat slashing of his friend.
