*This Post Is About HPP* Waikahekahe, WATUMULL'S, Owners/Members Meeting 10/27/2024

As someone who lives in HPP, I have no interest in reading pages and pages of gripes and wonder why those who donʻt even live here are calling out for more.
Certainty will be the death of us.

"Jerks from far and wide?"
"Dirty laundry?"

The only jerks I have heard from on Punaweb seem to live locally. And the "dirty" has nothing to do with laundry.

I used no such words. You are quoting MyManao.

That's why I think having a sub-forum would improve things. That would be the place to go if you're interested in all the griping about HPP rather than wading through it here.

HPP is a small part of Puna. Are you asking for a list of those who don't live in HPP?

Lol! Thanks for the laugh. Really, how myopic can a girl get?

Aloha, Tom K,

Apologies. I have corrected my comment.

Question, why do you feel informing others about HPP is "griping?" I have seen older posts/comments on this forum from HPP owners who live on the mainland and are keeping tabs of the goings on in "The Park." There is no way to inform these off island Owners other than by mail (except HPPOA will not share the mailing list and even if they did, mailing would be prohibitively expensive). Do you not feel these owners should know what is happening in HPP?
In addition, many of the "substandard subdivisions" have the same or similar issues and are in the same situation after their community associations followed Paradise Hui Hanalike (HPPOA's) lead. Should these Owners not be informed as well?

Patricia,

With all due respect, informing HPP Owners of the ongoing activities with HPP and/or HPPOA is not the responsibility of Mr. and/or Mrs. John Q. Public, or in other words, yourself. It's the duty of HPPOA and its elected Board. Even if they don't do it on time and/or properly, it's still no one else's responsibility or duty to do so.

Having said that, in as much as I have read all your posts on all your threads about HPP, I am NOT seeing anything illegal. In as much as I am a lawyer, my specialty is only copyright law, nor do I practice law in the State of Hawaii. While you bring up some interesting points, unfortunately, and granted, maybe even unintentionally, your points are often clouded in steeply held opinions as to the perceived wrongdoing being discussed. Further, consistently calling the Board of Directors and the voting members of HPPOA "inept," "incompetent," "arrogant," "ignorant," "illegal," jokes, "shoddy, "lemmings" et al, regardless of any point you are making, be it valid or yes, nonsense, your delivery method quite frankly sucks. And then you do this while using the persona of "Aloha," "Goodwill," and a "be nice" to everybody approach.

Which is why your posts have come off to most as "gripes." Your projection of "I am right, everybody else is wrong, inept, blah blah blah is very disingenuous at the least.

At any event, I have found the history of interest. I am not a resident of HPP. It's not my cup of tea. I much more prefer the solitude of our 9 Acres here in Hawaiian Acres, where the closet human to me (except my husband and my dog Barney) at any time is a minimum of 1/2 of a mile! And I am more than happy to pay for a new suspension for our vehicles every few years!

Oh, one more thing. The proper abbreviation of Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised is RONR and not RR&O.

Anyways, just my opinion. Carry on and do whatever your heart desires.

Patricia,

If they want to be kept informed, yes. Why not do it through a sub-forum for HPP, though? Some of the threads you have started don't even mention HPP, which means people wade through things that they aren't necessarily interested in. I've not seen any objections to this idea, and it helps everyone, HPP and non-HPP. What is happening now is that some are getting fed up reading HPP gripe posts without knowing it until they start reading the threads. It seems such a common-sense idea, but I guess it's Puna.

I know you can't create that forum, but Rob can.

PS. I appreciate you making the correction.

Really, MyManao. How misogynistic can you get? This is just way out of order.

Aloha Mymanao. I have always been nearsighted, but never myopic. I am aware that not everyone in Puna lives in HPP.
As for the HPP posts... There are DECADES of them. Nothing to do with me. DECADES of "gripe." That says something. And again, nothing to do with me.

Aloha all,

This post is about the dysfunction that is the HPPOA board. If you are not interested in HPPOA politics (some of which are similar to problems that some other "substandard subdivisions" face) then please feel free to skip.

Mahalo,
Patricia

Aloha all,
If you are still reading this, then I guess you are still interested Wink
According to Appendix F, Schedule of Notices to Members (which should say Owners), the "Annual Update" is supposed to be mailed out to everyone in January. The Annual Update is supposed to include a "Legal Update."
Anyone want to take bets on whether the Watumull's will be mentioned? And if they are mentioned, will all of the facts be mentioned? Seems doubtful. Given that the legal information presented at the Owners meeting was vague and incorrect.
Also, there was supposed to have been another Newsletter that went out in September. Another item that is supposed to be mailed out (as per the bylaws) not just emailed. The Newsletter is supposed to go out in January, May, and September of every year, to all Owners. There hasn't been a Newsletter since June (a month late) of this year. Before that, the most recent was, February of 2021, before that July 2015, and January 2014. Wow, way to keep Owners informed. Of course, the Newsletter is not just supposed to include feel good stories (check out the most recent one- all sell). It is supposed to impart info- good, bad, indifferent. The Newsletter is not supposed to be a sell of the HPPOA board and HPPOA. The Newsletter is not supposed to be an advertisement. Too bad the truth hurts.
