Civility
#1
Civility encompasses the capacity to extricate oneself from conflict.

Currently, myBB lacks a feature that facilitates user-to-user blocking, preventing individuals from disengaging from potential disputes.
On Punaweb, the sole means of removing oneself from conflict is to cease using the platform, a strategy I often employ for extended periods.

The ignore function offered by myBB is inadequate, as it does not allow users to prevent specific individuals from viewing their posts, thereby leaving the possibility of persistent harassment open.

There are alternative bulletin board platforms, such as XenForo, that offer user-to-user blocking features.
It seems probable that Rob is unwilling to invest in a transition to such a platform.
In any case, I foresee the situation here continuing to decline unless users are able to independently avoid harassing behavior.

One cannot depend on an partial moderator engaging subjective and arbitrary actions accompanied by drive-by labeling to end harassment on a web forum.

A functioning brain also has an ignore function. No need for third party software or moderation! Or do we all need burkas and blinders to protect us from our own lack of self control?

Civility.
Like some have said about civilization, civility would be a good idea, it should be tried sometime.

Would it include attacking other members of Punaweb with terms (a partial compilation from recent posts) such as:

Weak arguments
Falsely proclaimed
They lied
Little liar
Your bullshit
Made up misogyny crap

Threats of lawsuits?

Weak arguments

Very civil IMHO when compared to the rest of the list.  Weak is weak, and some people are evidently above the law.   Smile
I wish you all the best.

I would like to extend my wholehearted complements to M2 for the endurance of the last 150 plus hours.

Further, I'd say that maybe we all now realize that some posters aren't really as civil as they think or pretend to be.

Again - I'd say one giant Thank You to M2 for the last 150 plus hours. I sincerely hope it continues.
