The intention of this statement is almost always concerned and positive but overuse has rendered it a meaningless cliche that in many situations can actually be offensive to me.  How about thinking of a more pertinent, individualized comment for the given situation?  

Such as, a petition that allows signers to include a personalized statement on the matter at hand.
