Oh yes J. Hara!
About the only thing I drag my knuckles into J. Hara to buy is an occasional guilty pleasure drumstick!
And to be clear - the ice cream drumstick, not the fried grease drumstick!
And that's only after I stop to get my mail at my free Post Office Box at the Kurtistown Post Office either on my way into Hilo or on my way home from Hilo!
Although, for a long time J. Hara had the big 48-ounce container of Folgers coffee for $8.99, but my favorite J. Hara experience is the dreadlocked patchouli reeking dude with his 2 cans of Heineken and telling the clerk "Come on man, just ring it up as a ham and cheese!"

Here's a fact (supposedly) to tie some of your exclamation pointed anecdotes, conspiracy theories, and dubiously informed predictions, together.
There have been intense discussions to waive all tariffs against our northern neighbor if they will just finally admit that their bacon is really just ham.
Also, as an aside, your knuckles don't drag if you head makai at the Y.
I wish you all the best.

My daughter’s class at Malamalama School put on Ferris Bueller’s day off as their class play many years ago. This was my favorite part. And remember, those who were students in that era (watch expressions on their faces) are today called “voters”.

Come on now HOTPE.
Your (cute) video is giving todays voters way too much credit.
At any event, at least for today we will have an abundant amount of "thoughts and prayers" heading to {City and State redacted as is non-Hawaii related} by a majority of those same voters depicted in your (cute) video and the people they just elected.
(Look at that. Not one exclamation point either)

In fairness to J. Hara, he does sell cheap butane, but that's probably just a loss leader to get his dabs producing customers in the door. My god though, it's like $3 something for a fried grease drumstick now! No wonder so many Puna families are starting to hunt long pig.
Darn HotPE, I was hoping for a video of the play, but I do love that movie. My job had me going into some local high schools recently, and I can tell you nothing has changed! Except maybe what parents let their children wear to school.

Whoa. Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that a fried grease drumstick is CHEAPER than an ice cream drumstick?
I may have to change my guilty pleasure!

Do you know what a video recorder cost in those days? Even if you didn’t buy it off the wall at J Hara, hanging 10 feet high on a hook. And I probably would have had to have hired The Rock to carry and aim the thing.

Now you guys have touched a nerve and I have something to Bicker about.
J. Hara has the best fried chicken on this island. I've been eating fried chicken for 77 years and it hasn't killed me yet.
Just reading this has caused me to cross the border between crazy hippy land and crazy red neck land to buy the box of thighs and drumsticks.

Let’s keep it Puna, Hawaii folks.
If your comment is about zip code 967** or 968** you’re probably good to go.

Endless entertainment.
Save democracy!!!! Ignorant voters!!! J Hara must be having a sale on sour grapes.
For M2 only: The preceding bickerage was regarding the Hawaii County mayoral contest.
I wish you all the best.
