you operate in an environment where things can change on a dime every four years, over time, wouldn't you recognize that weakness in the model?
This is a new environment. Federal funding under every previous administration had end dates, renewal dates. Money was not cut off midstream, without warning so there was never a reason to plan for it. The weakness in the model is the unexpected chaos, the unpredictable actions. If you want to pretend this is normal, you will not ask the questions that need to be asked, and you’ll be satisfied with the wrong answers.

You're saying you don't know how they adapted last time? You win 5 national politics points on Punaweb's National Politics scoreboard. Orange man bad.
I'm genuinely interested in how we can make the current iteration of The Bay Clinic more resilient for years to come. Anyone have any useful input?

Best long term solution is for the source of the problem to go away? Anything else is just a short term bandaid.

I too feel that decentralization will make us much more resilient. I'm excited that we are finding common ground.

Your interpretation would return us to the days of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” But mostly without health care in remote rural areas like Puna, the “kills you” part of the equation is statistically higher. That inconvenient math again.
Your interpretation sounds to me like we should wish Orange man goes away and this will never happen again. In my experience that won't happen and this will happen again.
Your frustration is duly noted across many posts on nearly every thread. We get it. A wiser man than I once said, "elections have consequences." It is what it is so now we put on our big boy, girl and they/them pants and we strive to actually make things better. Do you think taking over the Jesus peoples' turf next to the highway and waving astroturf slogans will improve patient outcomes in the near future?
What's thousands of more cases of sexually transmitted disease and cervical cancer to Punatang? Probably thinks horsepaste will cure that as well.
"“This is going to disproportionately impact young women,” said Medical Director Chris Piel. We use a lot of this funding to test for infections and treat infections, provide contraception to teens, and just do confidential visits for teens who would otherwise not have access to sexual health.”" Title X funding was established in 1970 by Congress in response to Nixon's belief that no American woman should be denied access to reproductive health care because of her economic condition. Hard to imagine Nixon being the beacon of reason and compassion, but that's how it compares with some of the commentary coming from under the bridge. But maybe they're sitting down there on a $2 million dollar donation to build that decentralized resilience for Hawaii they're so committed to?

Your posts today are becoming progressively more unhinged. With empathy I sincerely urge you to step away from the keyboard and enjoy some self care and love. You deserve both.

Punatang, I am going to suggest you stop being hyper critical of members. Stop.
Assume the best and ask questions.
