Well, I guess the link provided several times now about the original NPR news article was either too hard for you to click on, or maybe too hard for you to read, so, here, once again, is the link:

And to make it easier to follow along, I'll "snip" the first two paragraphs:

"The Trump administration has asked NASA employees to draw up plans to end at least two major satellite missions, according to current and former NASA staffers. If the plans are carried out, one of the missions would be permanently terminated, because the satellite would burn up in the atmosphere."

"The data the two missions collect is widely used, including by scientists, oil and gas companies and farmers who need detailed information about carbon dioxide and crop health. Now, knowing your discernment for, and to provide even more factual information, the two satellites I am referring to are known as:

Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 which is a free flying satellite that was launched just 10 years ago. The link provides valuable detailed information as to its mission and what data it provides and all that neat scientist stuff.

Then, there is Orbiting Carbon Observatory-3 which is an instrument that was launched in 2019 and is currently attached to the International Space Station. Further, the link also provides valuable detailed information as to its mission and what data it provides and all that neat scientist stuff.

As for the relation of all this to Hawaii, I defy ANYONE to tell me how CO2 in the atmosphere on planet earth does not directly affect and impact Hawaii.

I would just like to call out HotPE and HiloJulie, they obviously triggered a snowflake at some point in the past. Even the mere presence of their double secret probation blocked messages is probably perceived as a microaggression at this point. Oh gosh, I'm blushing at all the attention!

And while I can't speak for HOTPE, I do admire his/her methods, and he/she does a good job at standing up to the alternative facts crowd quite well. Very succinctly and to the point, where I tend to get a little verbose presenting the specific real facts, and to some, that apparently does get irritating.

But to be fair and impartial and even more factual, I think we also need to acknowledge as well as owe a debt of gratitude to Ironyak for keeping the alternative fact based crowed at bay. A lot of my inspiration to post on PunaWeb is in admiration of his/her drive to seek the truth and reality of situations and the most eloquent way he/she has of calling an effing idiot out without calling them an effing idiot is a very well learned trait I wish I could master.

So, while I never make anything I post on PunaWeb all about me, I think it's proper to give HOTPE and Ironyak a much bigger piece of the call out than I. And I also do feel a hat tip to Moderator 2 is in order as well.

As for PunaWeb peace, well one never knows. For example, and while we know that he has now blocked my posts but let's just hope that Kane does not see his number 1 fan boy's reference to him as "Mrs. Kane."

I think maybe you are right randomq, it might be time for these alternative fact believers to have a safe space indeed. 

Everything they say is 100% factual, truthful and if you disagree or present valid proof that goes against their alternative facts, no matter what, you are wrong. Period. And how dare ANYONE, especially me, challenges their posted opinionated facts.

I'm wondering, with Obie, the Dude, add in the little "'e" and then the real full time PunaWeb Karen whose sheer and utter ignorance knows no bounds and I'm wondering if we have the little utopian community MyManao thinks is being "stifled" here on PunaWeb?

It's funny, when all one needs to do if they feel they are being "stifled" is to simply offer a valid counterpoint to the poster they think is "stifling" them. But, as usual, they have none. So, it's complain, complain, flood Rob and Moderator 2's inbox with complain, complain, complain. Heck, some even complain about the bickering here on the bicker board!

Maybe a new sub forum should be created here on PunaWeb modeled off of a "skit" sometimes done on Bill Maher's famous Real Time show on HBO.

Call the forum "I Don't Know It For A Fact, I Just Know It's True."

The alternative fact believers could make post after post in that sub forum and never have their opinionated facts challenged!

Didn't you post that you have resided on the Big Island in Hawaiian Acres for 30 years?
Didn't you also post that you were a lawyer on the mainland in multiple states ?

I moved to Hawaii on Oahu in 1973 and lived there until 1976. I moved to Utah because I couldn't afford Hawaii.
I now spend 7 months in Hawaii as a resident and vacation in a log cabin on a small lake in Ohio for 5 months in the summer
