interesting observation about the stimiulus
#1
not sure if this is the right forum, since it says Puna politics, but I thought I would share it anyway.

I was just watching a show and the host made an interesting comment. He made the comment in regards to the stimulus bill that President Obama just signed this week, with very little republican support. He said we have spent at least 700 billion in Iraq, maybe even a trillion, but we can't afford to rebuild our own infrastructure????? He said that we need to pretend we have WMD's and invade ourselves. Big Grin

I think it was spot on....what say you? Wink

cruz, you should research the whole story behind the 'non-existent' WMD's before such an inane comment. A. Saddam Hussein admitted to have them, B. The U.N. Security Council voted (Resolution 1540)and agreed that he had them, must not have them, must destroy them, and must prove that he destroyed them, C. He did not, D. Nothing to do with Republicans except that they were the only ones to enforce what the UN Security Council already determined and demanded.

Here is a fascinating article documenting Iraq's history with Anthrax, VX nerve gas, and Nuclear Weapons, including comments from Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Jacques Chirac and German intelligence supporting the existence of such WMD's:

In response to the discussion of 'wasting money', unfortunately, the Republicans are also guilty of this, but the real waste of money was that they started this whole 'bailout' mentality, against conservative philosophy, in an attempt to save their butts. Big mistake which will allow the Democrats to abuse this to no end.

In regards to saving homeowners, give me a break. I paid for my own house and have no interest in paying for everyone else's.

Here we go again quoting bumper stickers. Uh, we didn't get any oil from any war, if I remember. It took the current administration destroying the stock market and job market to get us cheap oil.
