I want to point out that when people donate to Habitat for Humanity, which I encourage people to do, that if you donate to the national organization it may or not trickle down to our local affiliate.
If you donate to the local Hilo HfH the money stays here locally and get recycled very effectively. One of HfF's strengths is the money you donate gets used more than once because the families helps pay back their interest free loans and the money returns to the building fund.
