Got a quart of Knudsen organic grapefruit juice at Down to Earth in Prince Kuhio for $2.99. Usually $5.99. Also a great bargain is Happy Valley Seafood Chinese in the Hilo shopping center. Excellent Chinese food and two people can eat way too much for under $20.00.
Six papayas for $1.00 at Keaau farmer's market.
One of my favorite bargains is the tofu ends at Natural Pacific in Shipman. The retail hours are very limited but you can get a huge amount of tofu for around $3.00 and best of all you know it is very fresh. Which brings up a side point for me. Maybe if enough say something, the tofu companies will date stamp when their product is packaged. I can't tell you how often I've opened a new package of tofu only to find it slimy and smelly.
