The Property Tax Scam
#7
Well, I believe in giving credit when it's due, so here is an update. I own five properties on the Big Island, the tax assessment of four were pretty much on but the fifth one was way off. I appealed it and I mailed in my supporting documents. I got a call from the tax assessor while she was at my house two weeks later just to let me know that the fan was on in my living room! (Wasn't that a nice gesture?) I got another call three weeks later just letting me know that they agreed with my value assessment and they were mailing me the revised assessment. Kudos to the Tax Office for the work done professionally!
