Tony, a quick google of "chamber of commerce" "Big Island" found me Hilo chamber of commerce, "Hawaii Island Chamber of commerce" (for the island) http://www.hicc.biz/ "Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce" http://www.hipcc.org/ "Filipino Chamber of Commerce" etc.
Interestingly, unlike the mainland, towns in Hawaii are not incorporated (except Honolulu), so there's no local city government, just county gov't. In Calif., where I lived for 26 years and was active in the local chamber of commerce, there was a close connection betw. city gov't and the local chamber. So I'm interested to know, too. I'll keep an eye on this thread.
Glad you are thinking of coming to the Hilo side and starting a business!
