Thanks Bob. Couldn't have said it better myself. I will add one thought: this being a society based on Law, we are best served by those who would apply that law equally to all citizens. If James had the power to forgive a poor family who could not pay their property tax, he would also have the power to demand much more, arbitrarily, from another family, based upon nothing, a whim, his mood, the positions of the stars.
