One can get a felony for speeding if going just 1mph over the limit, dependent upon the circumstances.
Jay, Waikoloa Village is speed trap city. I used to live there and family still does. There are the speed changes and also the weird lane closures. They ticket people who turn right out of the village heading makai who pull into the main lane instead of the far right lane. And once inside the Village, I have seen people get ticketed on the residential side streets. I would advise anyone who drives near or in the Village to be very observant of every detail.
I'm always on alert there. Nice job getting it dropped. I'm not up on the technical difficulties of radar readings. So far I've been here eight years and never gotten pulled over, which amazes me. Knock on wood, hope I don't jinx it. I've had my times when I went oh crap, I'm in for it, but it didn't happen.
