The Secret's out about Pahala's biofuel plant
#11
Silverpenny’s accusation about the intention of the biofuel development is way off base. The description of Ed Olson as a “megadeveloper” is ridiculous. I’ve know this man for almost 20 years on a personal basis. I think that some may be offended by his wealth but he did not come by it through any nefarious means. He was one of the pioneers of the self storage business. Before that he was a gunite contractor. A man I can relate to as I am a gunite contractor as well.

Would a mega-developer revert almost 1000 acres of land in Hilo that was zoned for high density condos back to Ag land and start a farm? Or please read this article http://www.hawaii247.com/2011/01/21/2183...riculture/ Ed Olson just entered into a voluntary agreement with the Nature Conservancy to protect 2183 acres of land in Kau from development. In the last few years he has bought a huge chunk of Kau. He has started farms and wants to develop various types of alternative energy. He has already employed people in Kau. Who else is doing that? If you do a little research you will find more.

Many of us, I am not entirely innocent of this, are suspicious of really wealthy people. How did they get that money??? Sometimes they got it through hard work, luck and maybe even good karma. I could go on and on about the generosity that I have seen this man express. He understands aloha. Open your eyes.

Don’t assume the worst.
