There is some fantastic viewing at HVNP. Halemaumau crater activity from the Jagger museum, for instance.
To clarify though, The best "ocean entry and flowing lava" viewing is from the kalapana side of the flow. The official viewing area there will put you within a half mile(+/-) from active lava and eventually another ocean entry.
Uncle Roberts is at the end of the road where the famous Kaimu black sand beach used to be. Just get to the area and ask someone for more specific directions. You're close.
