Another bad "organization"/cult here in Puna.

I haven't heard enough yet to pass judgement but I acknowledge that such cult groups exist and this group might be one. Some good friend of mine attended this Psi Seminar many years back and talked me into going too. I eventually opted out of the "Basic" seminar ($800) and fortunately got my money back while they went on to more advanced seminars for $1,000s. My friends were so fired up and convinced that these seminars were life changing. It sounded like religion to me. I understand that they do hit you up for the next installment at the end of your first seminar, which is exactly the way I would rig things if I were to set up a scam to make money. Get people to pay you money to lock them (voluntarily) in a room while you feed them a line that you have carefully developed to make them giddy and happy about themselves and ready to pay you more. Although this group has not to my knowledge been implicated in any strong-arm tactics, there are elements of isolation from family and sleep deprivation. There also was the element that once they had convinced my friends, they used my friends to convince me to buy something I would never have considered buying if it hadn't been for the emotional distress my friends were experiencing as they tried to convince me that I was missing out on a life altering experience. I distinctly remember thinking I was in a bad dream. Looking back on it it was a form of emotional hostage taking.

Ultimately my friends moved on several thousand dollars poorer but they actually felt that they got something out of the deal. Some people spend that kind of money uselessly jacking up their truck. Does it matter if they are happy? No, as long as they don't make anyone else unhappy along the way.
