If you sift through the nonsense and sad attempts at poetic license (power of the sun is a bit of a stretch fission / fusion and all), he does seem to have ahold of the same facts I have gathered from the news:
1. Actual radiation leakage (the kind you can measure on a geiger counter) is insignificant so far - nobody is getting sick from that.
2. Political and economic repercussions are already significant (re-posturing on support for construction of new nuke plants in US, increase in demand for oil, shifting of media attention away from other world events.)
Bottom line, same stuff, different day. There's no dangerous cloud coming to Hawaii - not one that you can do anything about, anyway.
