Mark Van Pernis 329.3151 is the most hated real estate attorney on the island. I don't know why you paid "back taxes" but you are not liable for any cost that occurred prior to your ownership, unless you acquired the property by a Quit Claim Deed. If the FFCA put a lien on the property than the title insurance company screwed up. However, and most likely, it's a screw up by your escrow company, they were supposed to prorate everything by the closing date, including the road fees. They probably were too lazy to contact the FFCA prior the closing.
