Thank you, beejee, that's so kind of you! Unfortunately I visit the summit very rarely these days as we now operate the telescope remotely from Hilo due to our funds being cut. I miss the summit a lot and don't have those photo opportunities I once had. In any case, I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the summit and although snow in May is rare we had a very unusual weather pattern last spring/summer and got snow much later than usual.
I also miss cold weather - and easily identifiable seasons!
A team from NASA was out in June/July this summer to use an instrument of theirs on UKIRT so had the opportunity to spend a little time back at the summit again. It was great to be back! I took a couple of pictures while up there that some here may not have seen before - IRTF and clouds and a really spectacular sunset. Hope you like them and that they remind you of your trip to the summit!
