I think all the places recommended above are very special.

In Hilo, I am always inspired by Lili'uokalani Gardens and Coconut Island.
Onomea Bay, definitely.
Pepe'ekeo
Laupahoehoe Point, a must see for ocean pics. I spent a long time there one day but they weren't digital so aren't online.
Waipi'o Valley
Kohala Mountain Rd.
Mahukona
Pololu lookout
Chain of Craters Road ...
