Call 911, hit your own horn, drive straight to police station while trying to get attention of other drivers to call 911 for you or at least head for public place where other people, MEN are. Apologies to fairer sex here but a nutty attacker is gonna think twice if a bunch of other guys are ready to 'defend' the woman and her child. ... Even if they don't know the story yet. A bunch of titas will have same effect : )
That said ... NO WAY should one stop until they feel its safe.
IMO, this includes breaking traffic laws if need be to ensure safety.
Also, IMO ... If I had a young daughter driving, i would make sure they had something right there to jab or spray in anyone's face if they felt threatened.
