Not wishing to put a damper on things, but I know this has caught people out before and I also know many people here realize this already. These records are for the particular day of the year only and not record lows or highs ever experienced. Thought I'd mention this in case some have the wrong idea.
I've seen the odd local and particularly excitable bloggers claim that all records were broken when 3 inches of rain fell one day and I think most people know that's hardly close to a record for the island. I've never understood the local media or even the meteorologists for posting this kind of daily record stuff, never experienced it elsewhere, but there you go.
