container gardening in Upper Puna

I'm in Eden Roc at 1,700 feet. Also about 15' of rain (150" to 200", hard to tell from the rainfall maps). Everything sounds the same as Hawaiian Acres except a little higher and colder. No soil. I understand that a greenhouse is the way to go.
