I thought Leilani estates was planning on a cell tower? I think the carrier is verizon. The one that is planned for Hawaiian Beaches/Shores is ATT but the one in Pahoa is T-Mobile. I don't think it matters much who you are with unless you are trying to get high speed data like 4G. Maybe then you would get priority on the tower? But for talk wise it doesn't matter since all the cellphones will be roaming. Since there is no roaming fees ... No problem. My G/F uses T-mobile and I use ATT and I am assume we are pulling from the t mobile tower ... I usually get more bars than she does but it might be my phone is better at pulling in a weak signal. So... I don't think it matters but you should buy a phone that actually gets the best reception / call quality as some phones are better than others.
