Who sells Hand and/or electric wenches?
#10
If someone is really interested in moving a container by hand I unfortunately have considerable experience in doing that. I also have two 16' long 4"x10"s armored on one side with steel channels. They are key to the whole deal. Them, a multi-ton chain-a-long, and 100' of 1 1/4" hawser and you're in like Flynn. Well, that and an unusual tolerance for hard work and discomfort.

You put gravel down in the low spots to support and level the 4"x10"s. You put the container on the 4"x10"s with the steel channels in between to protect the wood and create a sliding surface. The corners of the container are what makes metal to metal contact with the flat, greased surface of the channels. You use chains (forgot to mention them earlier) to attach to both the container and the tree you are pulling against. If the chains aren't long enough you use the hawser too. Periodically you jack the container up to move the 4x10s. Forgot to mention the bottle jacks but you need a couple of them too. And steel plates to put under the jacks.

If there is really anyone out there that needs to do this you have a unique resource available in me.
