Well, the lava won't be the problem... Say the lava come and cuts slices through 130 someplace. and works it way down to the ocean. You'll be completely cut off ... Since your only choice in would be to hike or somehow make it in on a motorcycle atv. I suppose you could get a helicopter or boat to drop you off. But that could get expensive in out trips.
So, an un-occupied home just sitting with no maintenance ... What good will that do? The jungle will just take it back and be destroyed over time unless the volcano stops flowing even then it will take a while for the lava to cool off and be paved over again. The problem will be access to your home. How long it would take to open up the roads back up depends on the volcano.
Think of a big albizia paradise by the time you get to see longs in pahoa again. Probably have to worry more about a forest fire than the lava itself.
