Do the drive in the morning during the time you would make the commute WHEN SCHOOL IS IN SESSION. Then do it a few minutes before and as if you were running a few minutes late. That 30 minute drive might not be 30 minutes.
We live in OrchidLand. Usually it takes me 10-12 minutes to drive to the highschool from our house. In morning commuting traffic it can take up to 40 minutes. The drive into Hilo usually takes 30 minutes, in morning commute time it can take up to and even over an hour depending on what time you leave the house. The difference of 5 minutes can add 20 minutes to the commute!
The cost of gas is relative to how much you make. You will probably make less money here than in SoFlo.
